In recent years, the "Sistema Museale di Ateneo" has promoted the enhancement of its heritage, through exhibitions, study days, meetings and promotion of  visits.

In this last contest is inserted the Virtual Tours project of the most representative structures, a new effective tool to further convey public interest towards realities not yet well-known and, therefore, appreciated by few.

The use of Virtual Tour, 360° interactive panoramic   photographs that rotate through the movement of mouse or using the gyroscope present in some smartphones, guarantees an immersive sensation and a high level of involvement of the user, who can freely wander around the collections rooms or between the open spaces of the Botanical Garden, according to preset paths.

The Tour is today under development: after the monumental complex, some sites and museums, it is planned to extend it to the collections, in particular acquiring images of objects and evidences of particular interest, in order to obtain an accurate 360° panoramic view. This also includes the work of images acquisition of the herb samples, that can be consulted through an online database on the page of the so-called Virtual Herbarium.
